The role of the President is to is to oversee and manage the student committee and to represent the student body.

The general role of the Vice President (Secretary) is to support the committee in all secretariat matters, and to assist the president in overseeing all departments in events.
​
The general role of the Vice President (Finance) is to manage the student committee's financial budgeting, recording, and analysis. The treasurer aims to account for all expenses incurred during the course of planning and executing all student committee projects and events, whilst using ensuring that events planned are cost-effective.
​
Together, the President and Vice Presidents run the Research and Development (R&D) team consisting of Year 2 Subcommittee members.

The purpose of the Research and Development team is to explore, plan, and execute new initiatives for the student body. Such initiatives may come from an ad-hoc basis, such as requests from Faculty, SAOT Council, and student suggestions. The R&D team will be assisting and supporting the other departments in large scale SAOTSC events.
